With the maximum on monday 2C below the August 33-year average, maximum of only 18.8C, a cloudy day with only 14 minutes of sunshine and rain returning in the evening and overnight, it really feels like early autumn.
A light shower occurred late evening but just before 5am more substantial rain fell giving a total for the past twenty-four hours of 2.1mm.
This morning it is dull with thick cloud and light drizzle. The thermometer has been falling steadily since just after 5pm yesterday to produce the coolest morning, at 08.00, for over a month with an ambient temperature of 12.4C. Because of the thick cloud it was a mild night being 0.9C above the August average.
