The previous three days has seen the strong northeasterly winds increasing, both the 10 minute average speed from 10 to 12 mph and the peak gusts to 28 mph. As the barometric pressure has slowly declined over the last 36 hours, it has influenced the wind strength so that this morning the 10 minute average speed has dropped to 8 mph and peak gusts to 21 mph.
Yesterday was another dry day also the warmest for four days with a maximum of 15.8C, still 1C below the average for May with the increased strong sunshine of 5.2 hours moderated by the cool wind. The highest UV level was back up to 6, a ‘High’ reading, not seen since 17th April.
Overnight the minimum of 8.4C occurred at 02.13 that had recovered to 9.6C at 08.00, the warmest night this month and since 22nd April.
