Rainfall 0.4mm – evaporation 28mm, in April

Another very sunny day yesterday with 6.6 hours of strong sunshine and the UV level in the ‘Moderate’ category. This pushed the thermometer a little higher again with a maximum of 15.5C at 15.55 (1.5C above the average) yesterday afternoon. The continuing high pressure still influences our weather so that any cloud having dispersed overnight, the thermometer dropped to a very chilly minimum of 2.4C at -6.37 this morning before the sun got to work raising this to 6.4C at 08.00.
This month we have had two very short showers amounting to 0.4mm, the average for April is 59.7mm, but evaporation from plant life and the ground is now 28mm.
