The rain and drizzle on wednesday continued for most of the day, relaxing just before 5pm when there was a very brief bright interlude with 8 minutes of strong sunshine.
There were no periods of intense rainfall, fortunately, as the twenty-four hour period produced 3.5mm.
Not surprisingly it was another very cool day with a maximum of only 15.4C, being a significant 5.3C below the average, only reached late afternoon as the sun broke through, the day had been mainly around 13C.
As the cloud broke during the night the thermometer fell swiftly to a minimum of 8.6C. which was 3C below the average and the coldest night since June 14th.
This morning is a totally differently day, thankfully, due to a ridge of high pressure. The sun shone strongly after dawn raising the temperature to 12.2C at 08.00.
